Well, Reece has had a hell of a week. Ended up in the ER on Tuesday night/ Wednesday morning. Reece woke up from bed around 11:15 pm, I felt his head and he was very hot! I took his temp twice and it was 103.0 and then 103.6, which prompted the pediatrician to send us to the ER. God, if you have never been in one of these at night or early in the morning, don't go. It takes forever to get seen and then once they see you they misdiagnose your child. After 4 hours in the ER waiting and Ree getting up to a 104.6 temp., they said Ree had a ear infection in the right ear and to take antibiotics. The dr on call wrote a prescription and sent us on our way, which we were happy to leave. Ree slept good that morning and then woke up feeling ok. I scheduled a drs appointment for 1:30 pm that afternoon with his pediatrician. She stated that he did not have a ear infection, it was something called "RosEolla" and that it was a fever for 12 hours followed by a all over rash. We haven't seen the rash yet. Ree did have a hard time going to the bathroom (number 2) on Thursday but after 4 hours of trying, he finally went. Then on Saturday, he was just crying and whining the whole day. Went to the drs again, and it seems he is having some bowel trouble. They suggested a enema for Reece.... ewwww! Tried it and he wiggled and moved too much for me to feel comfortable doing it. Then had the idea of tricking him with a suppository, and that worked. Pooped 2 times in a few hours. All was well, and since he didn't take a nap that day, he slept really well and didn't wake up till 7am this morning.
Now all we are dealing with is his normal cranky 3 year old attitude and just life in general. He is starting to potty train and on Friday he pee'd in the potty all day. Not one accident! Go REECE! We are very proud of him, but getting very close to the end of our ropes with him also. He is beginning to be a handfull and it seems to be getting worse. I hope the next two years go by fast so we can get some much needed peace. 5 seems to be the age these kids start to get a little easier to deal with, not completely but a little. (I am not dilusional).
Anyway, till next time, enjoy the pics of our holy terror!
